To improve the safety in prisons, body scanners are used to see through layers of cloths and even inside a person. This way contraband can be detected. One of the problems a body scanners faces is the maximum radiation it may produce. This causes scans to have a limited amount of information, creating labor intensive searches and unreliable results. This research is about whether X-ray image quality can be improved and autonomous contraband detecting with convolutional neural networks.
